Iowa: Wild Rose Casino & Resort now bets on its soft opening

The freshly-completed Wild Rose Casino & Resort in Jefferson (Iowa), a gaming facility located northwest of Des Moines, opened its doors to gamblers on Monday at 3p.m. for what it called a “soft opening”. The facility’s spokeswoman, Jamie Buelt, recently announced that Wild Rose is ready serve its first customers, and that, amid period when its restaurant and entertainment venue are still under construction. All works are expected to be completed shortly. Buelt said that the grand opening is for soon, on August 1, to be precise.

About 550 people were in attendance on the first day. Greene County Supervisor, Guy Richardson, one of the county’s officials supporting the project, voiced that the complex would give a new impetus to the county’s economy. Proud of the way the facility is now making significant steps forwards, Richardson expressed his joy at the ceremony. Recall that Wild Rose features a 18,000-square-foot casino in which are operated 536 slot machines and 14 table games. It was granted a license by Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission in 2014. All along this soft opening, the casino is operational from 8 a.m to midnight. As from July 31, the casino will open 24 hours a day during weekend, and 8 a.m to 2 p.m from Monday to Friday.
