AFJEL called for solutions to help the struggling i-poker industry stand – France

AFJEL, the association that gathers France’s legit virtual gaming operators, remains vocal while raising awareness about the urgent need for sustainable solutions to the years-lasting crisis the industry has been facing. A revision of the 2010 law that rules France’s online gaming, the allocation of new roles and resources to the online gaming regulatory authority ARJEL, liquidy sharing compact with other European countries, licensing of new variants of online games,…those topics are, among others, fall into the grievances addressed to the authorities by the association. So far, no concrete action is being undertaken by the regulation authorities.

To speed things up, AFJEL has run multiple media awareness campaign in recent weeks. Most of AFJEL members actually call for open discussion on the currently-in effect taxation. If making a decisive step fowards into amending a new tax law still remains far from reach, implementing urgent solutions is of extreme need, some claimed. Among the most anticipated ideas they voiced include the need for a level playing-field regarding tax policy similar to those imposed in other European countries. Recall that the current tax rate levied on gross gaming revenues in France is set to 46% while that imposed in the neighboring countries rarely exceeds 20%.
